Cultural Transformation and Trust: Insights from Two Singapore Gatherings

Cultural transformation is ultimately about people. Strategies and systems may establish direction, but meaningful change depends on how people respond, behave and build trust with one another.

We recently explored these ideas through two impactful gatherings in Singapore. The first took place at the Garden Lounge within Citi Wealth Hub. The second was an exclusive CHRO gathering held at Preface.

Across both gatherings, Tareef Jafferi, Roshan Thiran and Dr Carl Thong brought the conversation to life. Together, they explored cultural transformation, why people do and do not change, and the impact of trust on organisational culture.

Change is not experienced in the same way by everyone.

People may respond differently depending on their experiences, expectations and level of trust. Understanding these human factors can help leaders approach cultural transformation with greater awareness.

The discussions encouraged participants to consider the behavioural side of change, including what may influence people to support, question or resist it.

Bringing Different Perspectives Together

Tareef Jafferi, Roshan Thiran and Dr Carl Thong contributed their perspectives across the two sessions.

Their discussions challenged and informed participants while creating space for reflection on cultural transformation and human behaviour.

The networking time at both gatherings was also productive, allowing participants to continue the conversation and connect with one another.

Continuing the Conversation

We are grateful to everyone who attended and engaged openly in the conversations across both gatherings.

Cultural transformation is an ongoing process. Exploring how people change, why they may resist change and how trust affects culture can help organisations ask better questions about their own transformation journeys.

More conversations and gatherings will follow.
