Stakeholder Management: Creating Partnerships with Stakeholders (For ARMs & JRMs)
An IBF-STS Accredited half-day workshop for Assistant Relationship Managers & Junior Relationship Managers in Singapore.
IBF-STS Accredited
4 CPD hours
Half Day
Stakeholder management helps professionals identify, understand and influence the people whose support affects an outcome. In banking, these stakeholders may include senior relationship managers, product specialists, credit teams, compliance officers and clients. Each group has different priorities, concerns and decision-making authority.
This half-day stakeholder management course in Singapore equips Assistant and Junior Relationship Managers with practical tools for navigating those relationships. Participants learn how to map stakeholders, align priorities and adapt their communication style. In addition, they practise influencing, negotiation and conflict-resolution techniques through realistic banking scenarios. As a result, they can contribute more proactively to client requests, internal projects and cross-functional decisions.

What is stakeholder management — and why does it matter for ARMs & JRMs?
As an ARM or JRM, you already know that getting things done in banking rarely happens in a straight line. Deals need product sign-off. Client requests involve compliance. Portfolio reviews require collaboration with seniors. Every one of those touchpoints is a stakeholder interaction — and whether those interactions go smoothly often comes down less to what you know than to how well you plan, communicate, and influence.
This workshop gives you momenta’s Successful Stakeholder Management Framework — a four-phase approach to planning your relationships, understanding what people actually need, communicating to influence, and building the feedback loops that keep partnerships on track. It’s grounded in practice: role plays, case studies, and real banking scenarios throughout.
Who should attend this workshop?
Assistant Relationship Managers (ARMs)
Junior Relationship Managers (JRMs)
What will you walk away with?
Create genuine partnerships with stakeholders through skillful planning, targeted communication, and purposeful implementation — not just ad hoc conversations when you need something.
Secure stakeholders' commitment by understanding what they actually need (not just what they say they want) and aligning your requests to their priorities and the wider business context.
Apply the mDISC communication model and 9 influencing techniques to engage different stakeholder types more effectively — adapting your style to match theirs, not the other way around.
Navigate conflict and pushback with structure: using the 5 conflict resolution strategies and the Good vs Fast vs Cheap negotiation tool to reach outcomes that work for both sides.
Build feedback loops that keep stakeholder relationships healthy over time — knowing when to escalate, when to realign, and how to sustain momentum on shared goals.
What does the program cover?
Plan & Prioritize
- Define your “win” — clarify your personal success criteria for each stakeholder relationship before you act, so you’re working toward an outcome, not just a conversation.
- Navigate Strategic vs Business As Usual (BAU) priorities — apply project coordination best practices to distinguish high-stakes engagements from routine interactions.
- Build your Stakeholder Mapping & Governance Matrix — identify who holds power, who influences decisions, and who needs to be managed vs mobilized in your specific context.
Understand & Analyze
- Apply needs analysis — map the gap between “importance to me” and “importance to stakeholders” to find the alignment zones where commitment is most achievable.
- Distinguish needs from wants — practice mapping what stakeholders say they want against what they actually need, so your solutions land better and stick longer.
- Use high-gain questioning to surface real priorities, concerns, and constraints that stakeholders rarely volunteer unprompted.
- Apply negotiation tools including Tradables and the Good vs Fast vs Cheap — 2 out of 3 framework — to manage expectations and reach workable agreements.
Engage & Influence
- Apply the mDISC communication framework — understand your stakeholders’ behavioral styles and adapt your packaging, timing, and tone to how they receive information best.
- Use 9 influencing techniques across Push and Pull approaches, plus Cialdini’s 6 principles of persuasion — giving you a full toolkit to move people from awareness to commitment.
- Navigate cultural sensitivity in multi-cultural banking environments — understanding how relationship norms, hierarchy, and directness vary, and how to adjust accordingly.
Review & Adapt
- Build feedback loops — get meaningful feedback from stakeholders and use it to realign your plan before misalignment becomes a problem.
- Navigate escalation — know when to escalate, how to do it constructively, and how to frame escalation as a partnership decision rather than a breakdown.
- Apply 5 strategies for conflict resolution — from collaboration to compromise to accommodation — choosing the right approach for the relationship and the stakes.
