Wealth Advisory Program 3.0 - Building a High-Performance Team to Drive Business Results

This high-performance team leadership program is a full-day Singapore workshop for leaders in private banking, wealth management and retail banking. Learn how to diagnose performance gaps, coach Relationship Managers, provide structured feedback and build a practical team-development plan through banking-specific case studies.

IBF-STS Accredited

8 CPD hours

Full Day

High-performance team leadership helps banking managers set clear expectations, diagnose performance gaps and coach Relationship Managers consistently. Strong sales results alone do not prepare someone to lead private banking teams. Therefore, new team leaders need structured skills in performance management, feedback and employee development.

This full-day team leadership course in Singapore supports wealth advisory leadership across private banking, wealth management and retail banking. Participants learn to improve team performance through the A.C.T.O.R., G.R.O.W. and S.B.I. frameworks. In addition, they practise coaching conversations for new-client acquisition and existing-client development. As a result, they leave with a practical approach to banking team leadership that supports clearer priorities, stronger accountability and sustainable business results.

What does it take to build a team that consistently delivers?

Most team leaders in banking became strong performers as individual advisors first. The skills that made them great individual contributors are not the same skills that make a great team leader. What changes is that your output is now your team’s output — and that requires a different discipline: structured coaching, performance diagnosis, and the ability to develop different people in different ways.

WAP 3.0 High-Performance Team gives you the frameworks and the practice to make that shift. A.C.T.O.R. for performance management, G.R.O.W. for coaching conversations, S.B.I. for feedback — applied through 10 real hunting and farming case studies. Business outcome: improved RM performance within 6–12 months.

What will you walk away with?

By end of day, you’ll have a complete performance management and coaching system for your banking team. Specifically, you’ll be able to:

Apply Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE) skills to enhance sales coaching, pipeline management, and revenue generation — using a structured approach that connects daily RM activity to business outcomes.

Use people performance management frameworks, tools, and best practices to optimize individual and team sales performance — diagnosing where each RM is underperforming and knowing what to do about it.

Coach confidently on both hunting and farming activities — with 5 case studies practiced for each context.

Give feedback that drives behavior change — using the S.B.I. model to deliver direct, honest, non-threatening feedback that RMs actually act on.

Build and execute a Team Leader Business Plan — translating NNM targets into a disciplined coaching rhythm, activity plan, and development roadmap for each RM.

What does the program cover?

Two deep modules — Key Topics and Frameworks & Tools — applied through 10 banking-specific hunting and farming case studies, role plays, and facilitated coaching throughout a full day.

Key Topics — The Team Leader's Performance Management Playbook

  • Competencies of a Team Leader — the M.T.S.K. framework: Mindset, Technical Skills, Soft Skills, and Knowledge.
  • Competencies of a Relationship Manager — understanding what you’re developing in your RMs to diagnose gaps accurately.
  • Sales Practice Discipline & Development — what to ‘Look Out For’ in your bankers: leading indicators of underperformance.
  • Skill vs Will — diagnosing whether an RM has a skill gap or motivation gap, and why these require completely different responses.
  • Good and Bad Examples of Coaching — analyzing real coaching conversations to identify what makes coaching land or miss.
  • Coaching on Sales Activities — Hunting & Farming — specific coaching approaches for new client acquisition vs deepening existing relationships.
  • Team Leader Business Plan — building your structured plan for developing team performance over the next 6–12 months.
  • Building a High-Performing Team — the systems, rhythms, and cultures that separate consistently high-performing teams from those relying on star performers.
  • A.C.T.O.R. Performance Management Framework — Assess, Coach, Train, Observe, Recognize: the complete cycle from performance gap to sustained improvement.
  • G.R.O.W. Coaching Framework — Goal, Reality, Options, Will: the structured conversation model that moves coaching from advice-giving to genuine RM ownership.
  • S.B.I. Feedback Model — Situation, Behavior, Impact: specific, fair, actionable feedback that doesn’t trigger defensiveness. – Trust Formula — the components of team leader–RM trust and how to build each deliberately.
  • S.M.A.R.T. Goals & Coaching Rhythm — goals specific enough to coach against, and a weekly coaching cadence that maintains performance without micromanagement.
  • Formative Assessment — Role Play Cases on Coaching (Hunting & Farming): 5 Hunting + 5 Farming scenarios with live coaching and facilitated feedback throughout the day
  • MCQ — administered at close of session. Both required to qualify for IBF-STS funding.

Why attend this workshop?

Foundational clarity

Most banking team leaders were promoted because they were good advisors — never formally trained to lead. This workshop gives you the professional management framework the transition actually requires: diagnose, coach, develop, and hold accountable in a structured, repeatable way.

Practical application

Ten case studies — 5 Hunting, 5 Farming — drawn from real banking team leadership scenarios. You’ll practise the G.R.O.W. coaching conversation, the A.C.T.O.R. performance cycle, and the S.B.I. feedback model in realistic role plays with live coaching throughout the full day.

Future readiness

The business outcome is explicit: measurable improvement in RM performance, productivity, and client satisfaction within 6–12 months. This is not a one-day motivation session — it’s a management system you take back to your team on Monday.

Is this workshop IBF-funded?

This program is accredited under the IBF Standards Training Scheme (STS). Eligible Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents receive 50% funding, capped at S$3,000 per participant per course; Singapore Citizens aged 40 and above receive 70% (same cap).

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from WAP 3.0 Winning New Clients?

They are companion programs in the same WAP 3.0 series but for different audiences. Winning New Clients is for individual private bankers and advisors — personal prospecting and client acquisition. Building a High-Performance Team is for team leaders — coaching, developing, and managing the RMs in your team. Winning New Clients = individual skill. High-Performance Team = team leadership skill.

IBF-STS funding is available to eligible self-sponsored and company-sponsored individuals.

  • Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents: 50% funding support.
  • Singapore Citizens aged 40 and above: 70% funding support.

Both the formative assessment and MCQ must be completed to qualify.

Funding eligibility and support are subject to IBF’s prevailing eligibility criteria, funding limits, and terms and conditions. Please refer to the IBF Standards Training Scheme (IBF-STS) page for the latest details.
8 CPD hours upon successful completion. CPD hours are credited to your IBF record automatically for IBF-registered professionals.

5 Hunting case studies cover coaching RMs on new client acquisition — including an RM avoiding prospecting calls, a failed first meeting debrief, and rebuilding confidence after lost deals. 5 Farming case studies cover coaching on deepening existing client relationships — wallet share expansion, handling a dissatisfied client, and positioning new products to existing clients. All drawn from real banking team leadership scenarios.

Two formats:
(1) Formative Assessment via role play coaching scenarios (Hunting & Farming) throughout the day with live facilitated feedback;
(2) Assessment is an MCQ to support learning completion.
